Dior once said: “There is no other country in the world, besides my own, whose way of life I like so much. I love English traditions, English politeness, English architecture. I even love English cooking.”
The Victoria and Albert Museum will host the exhibition in the Sainsbury Gallery. Furthermore, this is the largest exhibition in the UK on the House of Dior. The exhibition will hold from 2 February 2019 till 14 July 2019.
The show features pieces from the archives of Dior. They date back from 1947 to present including the work of his six successors. A few Items to keep an eye out for are Princess Margaret’s 21 st birthday ball gown, the line drawings, examples of toiles (cotton prototypes), Les Petites Mains, an assortment of vintage beauty products and gowns worn by celebrities over the years.
The exhibition is meant to celebrate the anglophile’s history with Great Britain and also the love and admiration the artist received from the people of England.
