Expo 2020 Dubai’s official song, “This Is Our Time,” has been released

Expo 2020 Dubai released its official song on Tuesday, with less than ten days until it opens its doors to the globe. The song, titled ‘This Is Our Time,’ celebrates the UAE’s culture, the future, and brings nations from all over the world together, all while telling the story of Expo’s underlying theme of ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’ through the global language of music.

Hussain Al Jassmi, one of the UAE’s biggest artists and an Expo 2020 Ambassador, is joined by Grammy-nominated Lebanese-American singer-songwriter Mayssa Karaa, who is also Artistic Director of Expo’s all-female Firdaus Orchestra, and Almas, a 21-year-old Emirati singer-songwriter who was named in Spotify’s Best Female Talent in the Middle East, according to a statement released today.

“World Expos bring people together, and we are pleased to welcome a collection of incredible talents to lend their voices to the official Expo 2020 Dubai song – combining the past, present, and future, and providing an inspiration to all,” said Marjan Faraidooni, Chief Experience Office, Expo 2020 Dubai. We look forward to greeting the world in less than ten days and generating once-in-a-lifetime memories for millions of visitors.”

“This Is Our Time is a salute to the UAE for everything it has been, is today, and will achieve in the years ahead,” Hussain Al Jassmi stated. It’s a song about pride, faith, and unity, and I hope that everyone who hears it, no matter where they are in the globe, smiles. It’s both exciting and fulfilling to be a part of such a historic occasion in the UAE.”

“I’m extremely happy to be Emirati and play a part in a moment that will forever be part of my country’s history,” Almas added.

“It’s a true honor to cooperate on This Is Our Time with such outstanding Arab talents,” Mayssa Karaa stated. Expo 2020 is a watershed event for the Arab world and Arabs all over the world.

Expo 2020, one of the first global mega-events since the start of the Covid-19 epidemic, will take place from October 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022.

Millions of visitors are invited to participate in the creation of a new world during a six-month celebration of human ingenuity, invention, progress, and culture, with music serving as a unifying and uplifting force.
