Rachel Brosnahan – The New Face of Kate Spade

Rachel Brosnahan, award-winning star of the show The Marvelous Mrs Maisel becomes the face of Frances Valentine. Brosnahan is the niece of Kate Spade who created the label in 1993.

Brosnahan is pictured for the new Spring 2019 campaign named Love Kate and shot by Maggie Cepis.

Kate Spade passed away tragically last June at the age of 55 after she committed suicide in her New York apartment.

Brosnahan loved her late aunt and pays homage to her in the campaign’s photo shoot. She told America’s Today Show: “When you lose someone you love very, very much, you spend a lot of time trying to think about how to keep their spirit alive.

She goes on to add “How they can live on for you and that’s through memories but also in Katy’s case there is so much of her left behind and this was an opportunity for us to celebrate her life and her legacy.”

The collection features bright colors and whimsical patterns that appear reminiscent of the designer’s signature look. Brosnahan says the collection reminds her of her aunt’s cheerful personality

Brosnahan writes, “She had a light that words can’t capture but touched everyone she came into contact with. She was exceedingly kind, beautifully sensitive, insanely talented, funny as heck and one of the most generous people I have ever known. She was effervescent. Hug your loved ones extra tight today.”

She takes this as an “opportunity to share her creations with all of those who her work meant so much to.”

She adds “I feel so privileged to partner with Frances Valentine to showcase their spring collection in celebration of my Aunt Katy’s life, legacy and love of fashion.”
